Special Purpose Lamps (Incandescent)

Spaecial purpose lamps are made for specifc applicaions awhere requirements for the light source has to perfom a task pther than general lighting, these include flood lamps, reflector lamps and projector lamps too.

WOTAN 250v 500w Projector lamp with tungsten filament, glass evelope and P28s base.

Because this lamp runs very hot, due to its high output, forced air cooling is employed oherwise premature failure would occour very quickly.

Osram 230v 1000w tungsten lamp with E40 Base. This lamp is designed to operate in a cap-down orientaion as stated on the envelope. These lamps were used in airport runway illumination.

Sylvania 35 deg 240v @ 40w Reflector Lamp with E27 Cap, in the original box.

This intersting lamp rated at 24v 100w in its orginal packaging. It would have been used as a projector lamp.

Atlas 240v-500w Flood made in Japan. I am not sure how I came to own this one.

Philips 240v 500w Flood with a E40 base, this lamp was used at Bristol Redcliffe Bascule Bridge.

Philips 'Spotline-Disco' Red reflector lamp rated at 240v-60w and would hve been used for (you guessed it) flashing 'disco' lights.

Lovley old Mazda Projector Lamp rated 110v @240w. This lamp has to operate in a horizontal position as stated on the lamp evelope. The filament structure is woderful too.
